I hope I can add to this and give you all a little taste of God's work in El Doradito, but I know I can't tell you everything, so much is going on, God is good. Please pray for our team to be the best examples of Christ possible, pray that we embrace the culture and the language. We are supposed to make at least one disciple while down here, so far I speak to a 15 year old girl named Saidi and a 17 year old guy named Samuel, pray that we all grow closer and that I learn enough Spanish to witness to them or reaffirm their faith and push them to invite their other friends. We had laundry day today, it was an adventure, everything stopped working right so we hand washed and hung everything up to dry, it was great. Ok, I hope you all enjoy what is on here so far, I'm going to bed now cause I've got some kids to Jesus tomorrow. He can be a verb now, I promise.

Hello family and friends! Honduras is so beautiful, any of the pictures I can show you will blow your mind and still not do it any justice. There are scenes that remind you just how amazing and beautiful God's creation is, but then there are scenes that tear at your heart when you see some of the conditions these people live with. There is no system for mailing or trash pickup, there is trash everywhere, which opens up the opportunity for us to try to create an evangelism ministry based around picking up trash. We've been here less than a week, and our water has been leaking or not working in some way every single day, the power was out for almost 20 hours straight, and you make friends with the bugs that sleep with you, but I realize just how amazing this imperfect little house truly is. We have everything that we need, on one of the first days down here I saw houses that were holes in the ground with a piece of sheet metal over it and some sticks for walls and a family picking through the trash with a cart to carry what they found home. It's very humbling. Church is really cool, we went to an international church that speaks English where almost everyone is a missionary. The local church sang in Spanish and I could understand, it was awesome. The Hondurans who are believers have faith like children, it is amazing. My Spanish has developed so well, I'm not fluent but I can definitely function and I have made a ton of local friends who live in the village who help us learn Spanish, and we teach them English. Today we had our first day of school. I am helping in the 5th grade classroom where 4 students couldn't speak English on a 1st grade level, so they couldn't do work in any other subjects. I also worked 1 on 1 with a ten y/o girl with down syndrome named Andrea, pray for her please because we don't have the man power or the resources to work 1 on 1 with her, I can work with her 1 day after school but she needs more attention. There were 3 men who entered the US illegally from El Doradito but they were kidnapped and held for a ransom, and were only allowed to head north to the US, please pray for their families and for their safety. Pray that the locals work together, they hate confrontation and they don't take responsibility very well, no offense, they're awesome, it's just a slower more relaxed culture. Pray that the church grows, because there were 4 local men in church with about 25 women and their kids. This village is beautiful, some of us climbed the water tower and the view is amazing, it's surrounded by mountains down here. No officials enforce any rules of the road, which makes for some pretty fun rides. Please pray for passion for evangelism, pray that the school and church both grow but that they also receive enough supplies and donations to function efficiently. Pray that our team chases Christ's glory with abandon, and that we grow even closer with the locals, pray for miracles and for souls to be saved. I love this place. Glorify God in all that you do. Amen. I am starting this post on August 4, 2016 with exactly 2 weeks until our team from Global Year is on the ground in Honduras. The excitement hit me today during my shift at Mathnasium while I wrote down a "To-Do List" which included all of the things that I will need to buy and/or pack before we head out. I am definitely sad to be leaving behind all of my friends and family, but I know that God is in control and He is going to place each of us exactly where we need to be to glorify Him, and there are too many verses to include that speak about giving up everything, even family, in order to serve Christ. I also know that all of my friends who I took care of are going to be just fine, because God has been, is, and will be the one who takes care of them, up until now I have just been lucky enough to be one of his tools in that process. I have to finish setting up this computer and packing, and I have to make sure I spend time with all of my friends before we head out on our different paths, so my 2 weeks will probably chaotic but fun like usual. I pray that this blog will let people see Christ save souls in Honduras, and maybe save a few souls that read this blog and see the Holy Spirit do His amazing work over the next 9 months. I have seen Him work with just a t-shirt and even less, plus He is God over all creation, so He can definitely work some wonders through a simple blog. Keep us in your prayers, and glorify God in all that you do. Amen.
