Josh Fox turned 19 on November 30th (which was an awesome time with a disco ball, music, broken chairs, and approximately 30 of our students) and is from Roswell, GA, about 2 miles from my house. We were actually both in the same preschool class (My mom was very excited to share that with me once they recognized each other recently). I am dating Josh's cousin and have been blessed with the opportunity to be with his family and they are all awesome people. Josh never fails to pose for a picture, always two thumbs up. We love his laugh. He is becoming a pretty solid basketball player. I can't stand that he's barely taller than me because when we play football my advantage is gone.
Josh is an amazing guy, and an amazing help in the classroom. He and I teach 26 6th and 7th graders. He will grade, check, and help the majority of our kids' paces while I give tests and annoy them by telling them to work, telling them they have to do ALL of their work to go outside, giving them demerits for disobeying, telling them to be quiet, telling them they failed, telling them to be quiet, telling them why hitting each other is wrong, telling them to be quiet, and telling them they can't go to the bathroom for a third time since our last break. He is by far the fun teacher, and I love him for it. Our kids love him in and out of the classroom, they ask for help just to be around him. I love having him in our class. When he isn't there the kids and I all have a worse day, and I leave with a headache. He is always willing to do whatever I ask of him whether it is making copies, watching the class, grading or helping, or giving bible study. He is always to the point. The other day he had a student read where Jesus walks on water for bible study, then he got up and said, "So Jesus walked on water. That's pretty cool. Who wants to pray?". Maybe he could explain a little more but I thought it was awesome. Please pray for Josh, pray that God uses him and blesses him for how much he has served me and our kids.

Abuela's real name is Lilia, she had her 77th birthday this past Sunday. When Mike and I were inviting people to church, going door to door, I passed by her house because she is blind and I thought there was no physical way for her to be able to come, but she cried out so we turned around and spoke to her. She does not have teeth and our Spanish was very poor so she wanted prayer for her son but I couldn't tell you why. We prayed together and then invited her to church, we lead her by the hand and walk her to church every Sunday and every Thursday for bible study, then we walk her home. She has visions from God and they usually come true in one form or another, it blows my mind, she is so sweet, she sings songs she believes God gave her to share with the church and even though she can't see or stand alone, she still gets up and sings, she is always praying for her children and grandchildren. This is us in church on her birthday, the sweater and stocking cap were gifts.
Rachel had her 19th birthday yesterday, she is one of the other Global Year students. She attended Etowah High School and played lacrosse, she is going to play next year in college on scholarship. She works with Kindergarten. Its cool to see her get pumped over the idea that Jesus chose to save her, she has a heart for these people. She also helps lead music with Carlos for AWANA every Friday, and sings every Sunday.
Jacob is from Tullahoma, TN and from the same church as Justin. He is 19, about to turn 20, the head teacher in our classroom, a great guy to bounce thoughts off of and a good, godly guy. He loves Jesus, Texas football, and his boots. We talk about different thoughts, perspectives, and questions we have or hear while reading God's word or watching a video. He has some awesome perspectives and questions, the other day while teaching our class about some of Jesus' miracles, he asked why Jesus gave more than the exact amount of food for the 5,000+? It represents His love, its not just enough, its all out, more than we deserve, more than we need. He's blunt, but he loves these kids. We face our 14 different patience lessons together every weekday. I am very thankful I get to work with such a cool dude. God is good. These pictures show his beautiful beard. Taylor Condrey is the go coach for the Honduran Global Year team. He and Johnny Condrey came down for a week, bringing candy-corn, stuff from home, and love. We had allot of fun working and showing off Honduras. We played keep away with the kids and were exhausted, it was so much fun, we played for about 35 minutes straight and were absolutely soaked. We watched UT pull off an insane win after we laid hands on the TV and prayed for the 4th quarter. Then we watched Justin lose his mind, it was exhilirating. It was hard to see Taylor go, he is an amazing guy, fun to hang out with, gives great advice, is a part of an amazing, godly family, and loves Jesus. Pray for his safe travels. We had those kids convinced he was Messi's brother, which here is huge. Abby is 16, and the oldest of 6 kids. The details of her family are painful, but that's not unusual down here. She was living away from her parents and didn't have food so she overdosed on drugs last week. We took her to the free hospital, which was sad, and brought her back home to our house around midnight. She is better now and with her parents. I'm glad I know who to call on in times of trouble. Pray for her well being, for her family situation and that she gets saved.
Dib-Deb/ Debbie is a local teacher. She is 22 and is bilingual, she comes in handy but she is a great friend, allot of fun, crazy driver, everything. She did track in HS and she will go on team runs with enthusiasm. She is like my shorter big sister, she teaches third grade and is in the small "choir" at the local church with Mauricio, Jeimy, and Rachel.
Justin is essentially Bob's second hand man. He leads bible study, church, and teaches middle school. He is from Tullahoma, TN and loves, I mean LOVES his Volunteers. But he loves Jesus more so. He's quiet and guarded but he is a great guy. He has persuaded me to grow a beard.
Michael Bell aka Mike and Ike, and many other hard to spell names, is our fearless leader. He is our Global Year Mentor, if you're coming next year, He'll be your mentor too, He's awesome. Very fun, very nice, he made bread pudding tonight and he is teeming with stories of South Africa, that's where he did his Global Year 2 years ago. Not sure how to describe him but he is allot of fun and we love him. He is a great leader. I'm excited for anyone who is coming next year to get to experience the joy that is Mike and Ike. BUT everyone here outside of the village thinks that he is fluent because he's a native, so he gets called out for faking only being able to speak English, it is hilarious.
