So far 30 of our students have been saved, 35 total people have been saved, and 2 have rededicated their lives. Man. I think it truly hit me this week just what an impact this place has in a way I never would have expected to cut straight to my heart so fast. On Monday Jacob was sick so I was teaching class by my self, which isn't the first time because we have to be flexible, but I was teaching the kids about the theme of our last PB and J Monday (Prayer, Bible, Jesus), our gringo bible study, which was how to study the bible. We need to study prayerfully, devotionally, and faithfully, truly believing what the word says. I asked the kids if they knew what wisdom was because we pray for it every morning, and Monce was "translating" for me to get practice and she turned to me with this big smile and says "When you have Jesus in your heart, right?" because she is one of those 30, she was the first one who got saved that I shared the gospel with. She is one of my favorite students even though we don't have any favorites. We play soccer together and read bible verses during lunch, she is always at church and bible study, and she is one of two students who hug me after school every single day. She was so excited and so genuine, 1 Peter 2:1-3 speaks about thirsting for the word of God like an infant thirsts for milk. She initiates reading verses as a group during lunch, she always has questions, she is living out 1 Peter 2:1-3 and she doesn't even know it. Children are thirsting for Jesus and initiating bible studies with their missionary teachers. I want to be that excited, that's how genuine we should all be, God is so good. Today I lifted Maria over my head trying to see how heavy she was, she's 10 years old, because she is absolutely tiny. She weighs less than half of what Jacob weighs and he was 45 pounds last time I paid attention soooooo she is tiny. She is one of the new additions to the kingdom of God as well, she is so much fun to just watch because she beams over the smallest things and gets so feisty so quickly. We filled up the bus on Sunday and went to pick up a ton of people who either could not walk to church or lived in different areas. Mike and I were jamming out to "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" as we drove our "church-van". We even picked up village kids from the side of the road and brought them back to the village to bring them to church. We are going to have a revival soon, please, please pray that El Doradito gets back on track for God. Pray the parents are touched through their kids. Also, Minely made some flower/ivy crowns so I got to take some pictures with her and Oscarito. 5 days until Halloween and I am wearing tanktops every day. We can't have a Halloween party because we all know candy and spiders is how one worships Satan, so we are going to try to have a "fall" festival. BTW Pumpkins are $40 here because they are imported so you appreciate your pumpkins.
