Hello family and friends! Honduras is so beautiful, any of the pictures I can show you will blow your mind and still not do it any justice. There are scenes that remind you just how amazing and beautiful God's creation is, but then there are scenes that tear at your heart when you see some of the conditions these people live with. There is no system for mailing or trash pickup, there is trash everywhere, which opens up the opportunity for us to try to create an evangelism ministry based around picking up trash. We've been here less than a week, and our water has been leaking or not working in some way every single day, the power was out for almost 20 hours straight, and you make friends with the bugs that sleep with you, but I realize just how amazing this imperfect little house truly is. We have everything that we need, on one of the first days down here I saw houses that were holes in the ground with a piece of sheet metal over it and some sticks for walls and a family picking through the trash with a cart to carry what they found home. It's very humbling. Church is really cool, we went to an international church that speaks English where almost everyone is a missionary. The local church sang in Spanish and I could understand, it was awesome. The Hondurans who are believers have faith like children, it is amazing. My Spanish has developed so well, I'm not fluent but I can definitely function and I have made a ton of local friends who live in the village who help us learn Spanish, and we teach them English. Today we had our first day of school. I am helping in the 5th grade classroom where 4 students couldn't speak English on a 1st grade level, so they couldn't do work in any other subjects. I also worked 1 on 1 with a ten y/o girl with down syndrome named Andrea, pray for her please because we don't have the man power or the resources to work 1 on 1 with her, I can work with her 1 day after school but she needs more attention. There were 3 men who entered the US illegally from El Doradito but they were kidnapped and held for a ransom, and were only allowed to head north to the US, please pray for their families and for their safety. Pray that the locals work together, they hate confrontation and they don't take responsibility very well, no offense, they're awesome, it's just a slower more relaxed culture. Pray that the church grows, because there were 4 local men in church with about 25 women and their kids. This village is beautiful, some of us climbed the water tower and the view is amazing, it's surrounded by mountains down here. No officials enforce any rules of the road, which makes for some pretty fun rides. Please pray for passion for evangelism, pray that the school and church both grow but that they also receive enough supplies and donations to function efficiently. Pray that our team chases Christ's glory with abandon, and that we grow even closer with the locals, pray for miracles and for souls to be saved. I love this place. Glorify God in all that you do. Amen.

What a testimony! It is clear that God has pricked your heart for these people in your short time there. Rest assured that our prayers are with you as you serve Him. I look forward to hearing more about your experience. God bless.
